Zebra mussels are a "bad" thing because they are exotic and displace native
species and because we don't know the equilibrium state, if any, they will
produce. They have produced a fix to the eutrophication caused by man made
fertilization. How long that lasts and is it good from all perspectives
remains to be seen.
