For the first time in 56 years of maintaining a garden lily pond I have a
surface algae problem. This is in my largest (about 600 gallons) pond which
has been established about 10 years. It is stocked with goldfish and a couple
of bullfrogs and water lilies and Hornwort. This year, for the past month it
has a surface green algae that is annoying to look at. The lilies, goldfish
and frogs are doing fine. The water is clear and I am at a loss to cure the
problem. Any suggestions?
