While we are discussing aquatic menaces, here's one that turns the
tables...maybe.

Last week GA announced that next year (fall of 2003) they would be issuing
permits to hunt gators for the first time in many years. Apparently, their
numbers have increased (especially around St. Simons Island) to the point
where the wildlife folks feel that the measure is necessary. But here's the
catch (wimps beware!)... You are only allowed to kill one (just one) by
first getting a line around it and drawing it within a few feet away from
you. Then, you can shoot it, but only with a .22 caliber weapon. Believe
me, folks, someone's gonna' get hurt.
