Before we embark on said pissin' contest.... Let's verify we're talking all
apples here... ;)

We're talking about _volume_ of water moved per energy input. Not velocity.
Volume and velocity are very different.

We're trying to circulate an entire water column on minimal amounts of
energy used. At optimum, the volume of air bubbles inserted into the system
is the amount of volume of water displaced. This displacement causes
current and flow and all that good stuff. In my application, I am trying to
just move water around... Not quickly or powerfully... Just _efficiently_

If we were talking about _velocity_ per energy input, I would agree with
you. Powerheads are the way to go, and certainly, if I were _forced_ to use
an UGF, I would use a powerhead to really pack in the crud (velocity is
necessary to really pack it). But since I think that's a waste of good
detritus.... ;)
