I have a question for anyone who has had rainbow shiners spawn. Have you
ever had a situation where the shiners will spawn and then die within a
week? I've had such a situation over the last 10 days or so. One of my
rainbow schools, 1 (big) male and 3 females, were spawning over a mound of
stones. The male went psychedelic intense in color, kept whipping back and
forth over the mound, and the females generally hung away when not spawning.
Now the females are all dead and the male is in bad shape. No sign of fry
yet... it would be a first for me!
