Try your local WalMart first. Baitshops often carry them too. The kind
you will find there are green and will cost $10-$30. They will not last
more than a couple of seasons of heavy use, but the good nylon ones must be
ordered from a wildlife biology supply house such as Forestry Suppliers
<foresty-suppliers.com> and will cost from $100-$150.

Aslo, be aware that seining in freshwater in Massachusetts is illegal
unless you have a permit that indicates seining as a collection method.
You can call the Natural Heritage division of Mass Division of Fisheries
and Wildlife. You want Bob Arini's office.

This is one thing we'd like to address in NANFA New England. It was once
ilegal to keep any native reptile or amphibian. The rules were amended to
accomidate the "budding herpetologist" as long as the species in question
were not rare species with legal protection. We, as NANFA New England
would like to draft some suggestions for similar regulations regaurding
native fish; for the budding ichthyologist.

Hope that helps,

Brian Bastarache
