Personally, I think the redbreast sunfish are among the better choices for
an aquarium specimen. While they may not be as colorful as some of the
other sunnies when first caught, they seem to hold their color better once
in the aquarium. Also, this species seems to have a lot more intraspecies
variability in coloration than do other sunnie species--from drab to very
intense. They do get big, though, so a very large aquarium is advised.
