Pumkinseeds , as well as other lepomids, should not bother any plants -
less there are snails or other tasty morsels crawling around the leaves.
Still, they usually do little harm to the plants. I have used java fern,
java moss, val, water sprite, cryptocornes, annubias ( that one is the best-
no light, no problem, and tough as plastic plants) and various others with
all kinds of sunfish with no problems.
