OK, here's a coherent URL for NatureServe. This online encyclopedia is North
American-only in focus, but has excellent coverage of plants and animals,
and also ecosystems. It has the best on-line info I found on the rush
darter, Etheostoma phytophilum, for instance, which I had need of today...
so check it out!
