I'm glad you mention bowfin and gar, Ray, as being both interesting in of
themselves and also fun fish to catch within bounds. The same goes for
sturgeon on the Pacific coast, which do amazing tail dances when you reel
them in. I was reacting against the "go bassin'" mindset which is kind of a
lowest common denominator approach.

I attribute this to the 'big city'
