Jay .. I see what you mean about the caudal fin
markings on the top and bottom and the central caudal
fin bar or crescent but the photo does compare nicely
to a Roston --a definite master -- photo of a
Checkered madtom in Fishes of Arkansas by Robison and
Buchanan . Could this be a photo of the same fish ?
