The presentations went well. I presented to 3 classes and they all seemed
to really enjoy it. Some got a bit bored with the discussion of
sedimentation and whatnot, but overall, they stayed right with me. The
suggestions you folks made about single slides and whatnot are so very true.
Now that I'll actually have *time* to work on it (getting sick this week did
not help), I'll make it much more sleek, instead of relying on the
"Wandering Crailisms" to pull the weight hehheh.

Speaking of Crailisms...
- The "round goby pop" was successfully demonstrated (they asked, I told ;)
- They're now aquainted with "Burn Your Eyes Out <insert color>"
- Avoiding the "Great Trip Down the Porcelain Portal" was a definate hit, I
doubt anyone will "flush" their fish again.
- Demonstration of "Big Bluff Sculpin vs. Big Meanie Round Goby" became more
animated each time.

The fish pics got lots of ooohs and ahhhhs, and the kidos are excited to see
the fish in person.

All this in spite of the fact that today was their last day before spring
break. The last period class even stuck around to ask questions :)

The number one question? "I don't get the ditches. Where do they go
again?"

They just didn't understand the concept of ditches. That was *amazing*.
"They don't go anywhere... They're just, uh, ditches right?" Wow. The
answer of "Straight toward your drinking water source out in Maumee Bay"
caught some attention hehheh ;)

I even heard "Hey how you doing FishGuy?!" in the hallway from students that
weren't in class...

So I guess word got around.

Most people only get to be the nature dork in High School once... I got to
do it twice! ;)

Have a good weekend all!

Todd
