These were smaller. At first we thought they were sea turtles. Now and
then we'd get lucky and be looking in the right direction when a ray leaped
from the water and flipped, showing a black back and white underside
twisting in the air before crashing back down. Here is a manta of about
the same size which was cut up by fishermen:
