We'd like to invite any NANFA members in the area to the Chicago Killie show
at the College of DuPage March 20-21. It will be a great opportunity to meet
other fish people, to buy killies or food cultures Saturday at the box sales
or Sunday at the auction.

There is a well supported North American (non-Rivulus) Class. The Rivulus
class always include representatives from Carribean and occasional mainland
species. There is a special award for Best North American Killifish
presented in memory of former NANFA membership chair Nancy Garcia.

One of the real special treats this year is that we are privilaged to have
Rosario LaCorte speaking on the history of the hobby at 1 PM Saturday and
Fish Room Tricks of the Trade at 4 PM.

He is revered as one of the greats of the American aquarium hobby. He
collected with Axelrod in the '50s and with Weitzman of the Smithsonian and
National Geographic in the 70s & 80s. He seems to have rubbed shoulders with
an awful lot of the legendary names in the craft. As a breeder, he was one
of the first to breed discus and a whole slew of tetras and killies. A
couple of species have been named in his honor.

He has been much sought after as a speaker for over 50 years and is well
known to hobbyists of many specialties. Just talking with him, one gets the
feeling that he is one of the most gracious and knowledgable aquarists one
will ever meet.

Please consider yourselves cordually invited. And you can't beat the price
of admission. ;)

If you would like the show flyer or registration forms for the box sale,
show or auction, please drop me an e-mail. I'd be glad to fire them back to
you.

We have a great deal on the hotel, but reservations must be made soon.
