Very interesting !

I scanned the site and found some references to sampling vegetation,
macroinvertebrates, birds, and amphibians. Fishes were not emphasized.
Ironic considering the namesake of the organization. This dovetails nicely
with John Bongiovanni's recent observation that the fish components of
wetland communities are frequently ignored.

Considering this year's theme ("America's Wetlands: Keep 'Em Native") -
wouldn't it be nice (and appropropriate) if North America's premiere
organization promoting native fishes were to participate? If just 10% of
our members, visited 1-2 wetlands during May and compiled a species list of
fishes, native and exotic, we could make quite a contribution to
understanding wetalnd fish communities and we might sensitize the public
that wetlands are important as native fish habitat.

I would certainly be willing to participate in such an effort.
