I'm going to be unpopular again (I'm used to it) I am a member of numerous
lists, everything from sharks to space travel. I converse regularly with a
couple of NASA folks, the CEPH list, crust-l and others. None of them is free of
off topic posts, most of them even welcome dummies like me. A couple tried to
get restrictive about who can join and they almost had a civil war over it. Most
lists of professional scientists are very welcoming of observations and
questions from laymen. and once in a while even an off topic rant if it affects
some distant part of the lists interests. All this talk about what is and what
isn't acceptable is beginning to be worse than the problem. Lets wrap this up,
silly season is over, the fish are breeding, the water is inviting and we have
much more important things to argue about. That's just my 1.5 cents worth. BTW
is the list restricted to freshwater natives?
