forwarding this to the NANFA list:

The Missouri Aquarium Society is in the planning stages of trip to the
Ozarks streams this summer. It looks like it's going to be the July 21st
weekend if we can pull in our native fish speaker that weekend. I think we
are planning on collecting in the Ozark region so it will be a long day or
couple of days. If you are interested please email me off the list and I
will let you know when final plans are made. You'll need a fishing liscense
for MO plus all of the other stuff. One of the reasons a lot of us in MO
don't keep our natives is because of the cooler water requirement. Some
will do alright but a lot of the shiners won't hold their colors. Then
there's the bit about cooling them down over winter to get them into
breeding colors the next spring...

Well you can practice your collecting skills and handling practices so that
you'll be able to catch and keep alive those delicate tetras or small scaled
blue-eyes.
