Jan's list of larval ID books is as comprehensive as it gets for North
America. I just wanted to add a plug for anything by A.J. Mansueti. He was a
brilliant illustrator and scientist who died tragically young. His work on
the Mid-Atlantic Bight books was a huge help to my own graduate work with
sunfishes. One measure of a good science library at a university is whether
or not they have any of Mansueti's work. C.R. Shute is way ahead of many of
these libraries by having these volumes!
