After being on this list for some time now, it seemed as though I was on
the
outside looking in. Today was the first time I could see my own
posts.
Here is a little bit about myself:
I have been a collector of native fish and aquatic creatures since I was
a
young kid growing up in Wisconsin. I am now living in South Florida and am
a
native freshwater fish collector and dealer. My favorites locally are
Dollar
Sunnies, Crested Gobies, Darters, and various killies. I was collecting
my
Dollar Sunnies (about a dozen over the past year and a half) from a
quarry
that was full of em. Over the last 6-8 months invasive Mayan Cichlids
have
taken over with nary a Sunnie left. My fear is for the future of
these
little guys.
If any of you have info, observations, or comments on local populations
of
Dollar Sunnies please feel free to pass them along.
All the best,
Spike,
Spike's Everglades Aquarium
