I think NANFA should found and sanction such a list. It's obvious that
many members think highly of NANFA and regard it as a corner bar kind of
place to chat among friends and maybe discuss a controversial issue or two.
I think it speaks highly of NANFA that they feel that way.
I also think that the list has grown so much in recent years and generated
so much traffic that it's difficult for many of us to accommodate such
traffic.
I think an official alternate NANFA free-for-all list would respect the
club's diversity of opinions while still respecting the time constraints of
others of us who can't deal with a lot of off-topic posts.
I also think the club should ask for a volunteer to serve as an unofficial
moderator, to remind people of certain minimum standards--no obscenity, and
no personal attacks on other members.
