The trip to Franklin sounds good, but I'm othewise committed...

But, I think the mystery fish you saw were probably the striped shiner,
Luxilus chrysocephalus. They're probably the only Luxilus that far south,
and they have a robust build and the males can turn surprisingly vivid
shades of red, yellow and orange on parts of their body.

If you found burrhead shiners there, I assume you were somewhere in the Lime
Hills. I figured it out!
