I just wanted to thank everyone who weighed in opinions on what the
black spots/cysts on my fish were! They are still there, so whatever
they are, they aren't short-term infestations (it's been 3 weeks
now). I do have snails in the tank, so maybe the trematode will be
able to complete its life cycle (as long as a bird isn't the
definitive host--I draw the line at having a Canada goose in my
office!). We'll see!
