Got a 120 with about 300# of rocks in it. I"ve tested the big powerhead,
and it seems quite
capable of pushing the water up 2 ft higher (tank's in the basement) to the
foundation.
Right now, it sets up a pretty heavy current flow in the tank. I'm hoping I
can pretty much
follow the stream temps in the area through winter without worrying about
monitoring the system too
much. Come summer, I figure I'll dig a hole, and stick the tubing coils
about 3-4 ft down in the ground.
Somehow, the darters seem like they'd be happier in the winter if the temp
wasn't a constant
65 degrees. I'm sure the lil baby steelhead (about 2 1/2" long) probably
would like it colder too.
