hi ray...
its fun throwing green stuff in and see what takes off. im always collecting
plants as im out and about. mint, aw the smell, grows common along springs
here... and seems to be doing ok now... tho the cool is coming. tree leaves
are falling now. i haphazardly stuck a cut stalk of cattail in the biopool's
gravel substrate several months ago and it has took off... sending shoots up.
the cattail w/ the cattail flower top i carefully dug up and transplanted w/
the soil intact died! thinking tho it was perhaps just the "flower" stalk
thus perishable.
the only problem is that when i do the through total water change the
chemistry will greatly change and the plants that prosper now may recede. i
plan on moving them to kiddie pools during this period.
i caught a big eye chubb today. i really think they are cool. when i catch
them in the summer they are very fragile. stonerollers were full of
sperm/eggs today. hum. at least they looked pregnant.
