Todd -

I have had good results just using plastic totes for worm bins. I usually
raise red worms as they don't need a tunnel system like nightcrawlers do and
they also chow down very quickly on veggie scraps from the kitchen.

large nightcrawlers (which are exotic btw ;) are "earthmovers" which pull
leaves and debris into thier holes and chew on it there. They are actually
a pest in northern forests because they consume the leaf litter so fast the
aspens loose their infastructure. The smaller guys are "earthmakers" which
are native and consume pretty much whatever is there.

and took a dive up his neighbor to consume what his neighbor wasn't
digesting completely.

aquariums. I haven't done it yet, but that's because I needed to get money
for the manufactured bins, as I'd like to have it in my basement... And my
wife doens't totally trust me on building it right heehee.
