NANFA-- bowfin eats prepared food

Today I tried a new menu item on my bowfin. It was Ol'Roy gourmet dog food.
Possibly any dog food that comes in the foil bags soaked in gravy may work.
I feed this food to my monitor lizard and tiger salamanders. Since I was out
of crawlers I thought I would try this on the bowfin. It worked. It gobbled
them off of a skewer stick almost as well as it would a worm. I will
experiment more to see if it will just pick them off the bottom. I also fed
it to an orange spotted sunfish that will not touch any of the best prepared
foods, and eats only worms. It ate it good as well.
I have had bowfin in the past that took to pelleted foods with a little
work, but this has not been the case with this fish. It did take this stuff
though like it was a piece of real meat.
