Haven't attempted either. Some darters spawn as early as Feb. around here
(snail darters for instance). Others have spawning seasons that last into
late summer. Nearly all can be conditioned to come into breeding condition at
"off" times of the year with temp, lighting and feeding manipulation. We
almost never see young tangerines. Etnier says they spawn in May and June.
