Sometimes the tailfins are tipped with a reddish tint.
But I don't think its a Redhorse Sucker. It definately has the body shape of a sculpin, I have studied cottus paulus enough to know its a relative, it has a very slender tail and a big ol fat head.. They stay on the bottom of the creek in the deeper parts especially.
