In my experience, the single best reference for reproductive details and
growth rates in common North American fishes is "Handbook of Freshwater
Fishery Biology. Volume II" by K.D. Carlander, 1977, published by The Iowa
State University Press, Ames, IA. It obviously doesn't have any recent
information, but many of these biological data haven't changed since the
'70s(!). Many university libraries should have this book, or it's at least
available as an interlibrary loan.
