The chroma 50's are cheaper at Wal-mart. I use all sizes, 40, 20 and 15
watt. I have used them in conjuction with a "bathroom bulb". The two cover
the full spectrum better and the results are great. A hood with two each ( a
four bulb troffer light) over my 110 and I can keep water hyacinth going
excellent all winter long. Also many other plants did well in there, but the
aphids have other Ideas. I have not did too many submerged plants in this
tank yet, but plan to change it over to that soon. So far the eel grass is
growing awesome in there, even with the algae getting on it. In other tanks
with only two lights the algae can sometimes get ahead of it.
