I would vote for sand shiner, Notropis stramineus, rather than Arkansas
River, N. girardi. The fish pictured is thin like a sand shiner, and has few
scales (that I could see...) below the lateral line, also like a sand shiner
compared to Arkansas River shiners. My vote might change if I actually saw
the fish...
