So it is a northern fish that Moon has. The one that I kept for a
few years was from the Illinois convention, I think. Seems like it
did stop eating for a while in the winter. I had it in the basement,
so it was a little cooler than upstairs. Maybe upper 60's. It did
eat though for most of the winter as I recall. But I also used
artificial light there and had the windows mostly blocked off for
that purpose -- to control daylength... as well as nosey neighbors :)
I don't think our landlord ever had any idea that there were 90 some
aquariums in that house. I think I started with about 5. It crept
up from there. It's a creeping kind of thing. The next place, we
warned them in advance that it would be fish central. That gray
paint they had used on the basement floor never had a chance. I'm
still finding paint chips on some of my stuff! Blah!
