Silver creek is certainly not navigable by canoe, but Bassett might be,
being bigger & surrounded by swamp.

Blackwater River, a bit southwest of me, is very canoe-able, and in fact
you can rent canoes for float trips down the river. The water is very
tannic & yes, actually black in color, and there aren't very many
species in it, ( only 21-in-last count ) but I've taken a canoe trip &
it was a lot of fun.
