NANFA-L-- banded sunfish

In a recent thread on differentiating this species from the bluespotted
sunfish, Gerald Pottern mentioned that the iridescent markings under the
eye of the live banded sunfish were a good diagnostic character. I had
not noticed this before, but Moon and I were collecting in and near Lake
Waccamaw on Friday and caught a male banded sunfish which displayed
these markings. I've asked Todd to put my photo of it in my NANFA folder.
