I never have collected any, but am curious to get some as I rather like
the genus in aquaria. One must be able to find a few somewhere, but I've
never asked around as to where to find them. Seems to like gravel and
riffles is what they prefer which is odd for that genus. Has anyone on
the list ever collected any? They are only found around the Ozarks in OK,
AR, KS and MO.

If I do get any I always drop a few in ethanol for potential genetic work.
I saw some of your older posts about this stuff when I was searching the
nanfa email list archive via the website. I have plenty of vigilax in
etoh from the Red and Brazos rivers if you ever need any as well as
notatus from several OK and AR drainages. What exactly are you doing on
Pimephales? I remember something about paternity in fatheads. Have you
done anything phylogenetic, or have you only stuck to microsats? Say hi
to Guillermo for me.

Cheers
