Hey Jim, if you think it's cool to have an e-mail list dealing with North American fishes, you should join NANFA so you can get American Currents. It is absolutely beyond compare, going in depth on all the fascinating subjects covered on this list.

How is it Central America got grouped with South America? People on
this list are so possessive of their continent, that all those poor
South American countries down through Panama never get credit. :-)

That brings me to my next question. What exactly is the scope of
NANFA? When I found out there a north american fish list I was like,
"Cool, Darters, Pupfish, Goodeids, and Cichlids". That doesn't seem to
be the case though so could someone clarify it for me so that I know
what is on topic?
