The only thing I can give you as hope is I have saved
several fish from cotton fungus. I bought the med for
it from a LFS. Most of the fish I treated for cotton
fungus were new fish that were shipped to me or from a
lfs and they never made it to my main tanks so I have
no idea about the plant issue as they were being
treated in bare 10 gallon tanks without heaters. I
know each plant has its own tolerance for salt but my
planted community tanks had 1/2 teaspon to the gallon
of non iodized table salt to prevent disease. Only
native fish I have ever kept in a tank so far are
bluegill and sun perch.
