These programs sound wonderful but I wonder just how realistic it is to think
we can bring back a significant number of native species to their original
ranges. In many cases it was our pollution that degraded the habitats that
allowed things like carp to take over but now that pollution is being pushed back
in some areas I wonder if the natives will be able to push back the exotics? I
still think we should try but I don't see sturgeon replacing carp, as an
example, anytime soon.
