I have had my run ins with peta people and sort of agree to never agree with them. I did on an issue(egg production chicken houses). Once I was working beside them to try and keep these chickens from getting their feet grown into the wire from standing in one place for a year or more. Then in my conversation I mentioned that I kept a fish tank and that I hunted and fished. They are radicals and need to be told so and kept out of power. Little did I know-in-17 that these people wanted to put an end to my way of life. They even stole my hunting dogs(hard to prove but they were took to a pound 30 miles away with their collars on and the chains were not broke). All my neighbors hunted with me so I know they would not dare take a dog without asking as they know the price of a good dog. A few years back PETA organized a anti fishing campain-in-our local lake turnament. They showed up with all the boats they could find and were racing up and down the river SCARING the fish so the would
not bite. I told one of them that fish stress to death easily and all their noise and pollution was doing more harm to the fish than us fishermen have ever done. I know vegatarians and respect them. They also respect me. You can be a animal right activist without being PETA stupid. A vegatarian that respects my right to eat meat is welcome to have any believe they want as long as they do not tell me or my kids eating animals is wrong. Have your believes just do not expect me to believe your way. Since we are part of a group that collects fish for the aquariums(our own mostly) we are all anti PETA.

Later,
John Cox

A bit of an intro as this is my first post. I used to raise livebearer like guppies and platies ect.. I am now into killifish and hope to get and raise native killifish. I am going to TX this fall to collect some Plains Killifish(fundulus zebrinus). I would love info on catching types of killies closer to home since I live in TN with plenty of streams and rivers to float. I am disabled so I do not know if I can seine(sp) for fish or not but plan on getting me a cast net.
