The pleco is probably a "snow king" - Pterygoplichthys anisitsi. It
certyainly has all the markings.
The plecos studied in your area appear to be one form - but watch for others.
In Mexico and parts of Florida, as many as 3-9 (!) forms may occur within a
drainage.
