todd said it was a star gazing minnow! good eye guys. i had never seen one
before yet we caught it just down the road from my home. spring creek is an
urban stream flowing from lake winnie... an old timey amusement park several
miles upstream, home of giant mutated carp.
this stream has pleasently yielded many cool and healthy species.
thursday we caught 5 species of darters... all in awesome spring colors.
redline
rainbow
speckled
snub nose
a few greensides
minnows...
stripe shiner
big eye chubb
stonerollers
a few spotfin
a few bluntnose minnows
a single star gazer... the newbie!
sunnies...
red breast
bluegill
longear
green
rock bass
misc...
gambusia
hogsucker
sculpins
bass
( included above are a few species caught previously but not thursday, but
just 3 or 4. )

ive taken several people there over the years. its quick, easy and
suprisingly healthy. seems like every time i visit we find something new. it soon
joins w and s chickamauga creek which runs to the tn river after a few winding
miles.
it was a lot of fun having todd and jeff over for a evening and better part
of a glorious day. we spent a meal going over their pics and field notes.
lottsa fun and excellent digital photos.
gets me fired up for this florida jaunt im leaving for wednesday!
