Wow sounds like paradise to me :)

you got that right. :) a beer, long legs, a round of hole in ones and a
quick dip into the creek. and watch the jets fly low overhead.
a bit about the walmart stewardship...
ive taken several nanfa members over the years to this site along s chick.
there is a levee there that people could park by and walk or ride bikes. a
golf course and wetlands adjoined it. the levee is still there but everything
else has been replaced w/ a walmart. we dont even have a place to park now to
walk the levee. seems like they would have made an effort to-in- least provided
a small recreational parking area allowing easy access. chattanooga's mayor
had ownership somehow in the land and with much local but short debate it was
recently converted into another massive walmart complex.
s chick flows from the flat farming lands to our south and stays green much
of the year... but still hosts a decent variety of species including crayfish
and mussels. it is fun to pull a seine thru and look-in-what it yields. ive
even been able to snorkel it once or twice each year when the water clears for
a few odd days.
yes matt i would like to help w/ the seining. i know tva has gone to this
site several times w/ limited success. ive never pulled a snail darter from here
but have tried a few times to herd them unseen! snorkeling is the best
option but as i said only rarely can be achieved.
there are other sites we could check but yall may have specific sites to
retry yearly. ???
walmart could have won points w/ me by embracing the greenway concepts that
are linking chattanooga together. a nice parking area, signage and picnic
tables would have gone a long way.
now you gotta dodge 4 lanes of turning traffic while carrying sienes and
wearing waders.
