Occasional air temps of freezing don't necessarily mean low water temps. I've
found through experiments that pacu die-in-constant water temps of 55 degrees
and below. Even-in-slightly higher temps they become way to lethargic to
survive among active fish. Where in the US does the water temps never fall below
55 degrees? Even here where I live we get winters where it seldom frosts but
the water temps fall into the low 40's to mid 30's and stay there for weeks.
