Sorry, I didn't quite remember which convention(s) Ron attended. But, he told me that he had attended some. And, yes, he was a well-rounded naturalist with diverse interests including biology and geology (his fish tanks-in-home are decorated with fossilized/petrified wood). I believe that he had also collected amphibian specimens for the Field Museum in Chicago. He also generously collected and donated fish for some fish tanks setup-in-local schools (under NFC's Adopt-A-Tank program).
