This is sad: another example of why fish -- and nature -- stand little chance when political decisions are essentially being bought by utilities and big business. It also illustrates a disturbing trend of simpling junking the scientists when the science they report runs counter to political agendas. If Sen. Craig's doctor diagnosed him with cancer, would he fire the doctor?

It's one thing for Craig to shut down the Fish Passage Center (FPC) because he believes it is redundant with other efforts. I'm okay with that -- as long as he presents data supporting his belief. But to accuse the FPC of advocacy -- an absurd claim -- reveals his true intentions, and the depth of his paranoia.

Too bad Craig can't also shut down the judicial system that used FPC data to order more water to be spilled over the dams.
