The original question was which CYPRINID has the smallest natural range in North America. (The answer is, nobody knows for sure.) That would eliminate fundulids and cyprinodontids from the answer, although it is true that Cyprinodon diabolis has the smallest known natural range of any fish (in fact, any vertebrate) in North America (in fact, the world).
