NANFA-L-- Warm tap water

Now that the cold weather has come, my cold setting tap water is about 10'
colder than my aquarium's temperature. Is it safe to use warm tap water in water
changes? I seem to remember hearing that warm and hot water come through
different pipes than cold water, and is more likely to contain heavy metals
because of this. Is this true? Do you think natives would be significantly more
susceptible to metal poisoning, since they are less likely to be exposed to them
than farm-bred tropicals?

Thanks,
Andrew
