NANFA-- Spring Collecting on the MS River

I've been wanting to go collecting for a while but have been distracted
(and in some cases inhibited) by the high water of the Mississippi river
only 2 miles from my house. Apparently the huge amounts of snow that built
up in the northern part of the country is now melting and flowing down our
way (we haven't had any snow here in many weeks). I went to go collecting
in Sinippi creek today (a creek that flows directly into the Mississippi),
and it had turned into a wetland!

In some areas it has become necessary to sand bag on the top ledge of flood
gates- things are really getting bad. We have floods, but it's never been
this bad before; at least in my lifetime.
