Actually, we have two kinds of trout water in PA, Moon. Some are actually
clear and cold enough to sustain reproducing populations. These waters are
so rare and fragile, mostly from development and farming runoff, that the
trout fingerlings are in need of all protection. Probably the vast majority
of trout waters are heavily stocked with hatchery trout because a huge chunk
of PA Fish Commission and sporting industry money comes from trout
fisherman. And money always talks.
I have nothing against trout fisherman, my uncle's a purist fly fisher, this
is just the situation here in PA.
