NANFA-- Sunnies in MN

A buddy and I are thinking about doing a little fishing this weekend just
for the heck of it. I naturally thought that if I could catch some longear
sunfish, why not toss them in my tank that has been waiting for fish for a
while now.

Is April in MN too early to have success fishing for panfish? I think the
water is probably pretty cool still, but maybe I'll still catch something.
Anyone have any advice for targeting longear sunfish with rod and reel, ie
do they have a specific habitat that other sunnies are less likely to share?

Any chance that someone on this list knows a place for longear sunfish in
MN, specifically the Twin Cities area?

Thanks,
AZ Burns
